After several months of rumors and teasing, Microsoft has finally announced its new system: Windows 11. The update model will be the same as for the previous version. That is to say that users of Windows 10, but also those of version 7 and 8.1 will be able to update for free.
While Windows 10 was supposed to be Microsoft’s latest operating system and to be updated indefinitely, Microsoft changes its tune and offers a new system, 6 years after the last major update. You will find a list of new features on our Windows 11 test.
Higher requirements
To install the new Microsoft system, the minimum necessary at the hardware level is higher than for Windows 10. On the processor side, you will necessarily need a Dual-Core (or more) in 64 bits or a relatively recent SoC. Whether Win10 supported 32-bit processors, Win 11 won’t.. For the general public, this means 8th generation Intel Core or better, some Celeron and Pentium after 2017. At AMD, Ryzen 3, 5 and 7. On the SoC side, Win11 will support Snapdragon 850, 7c, 8c , 8cx and the SQ1 and SQ2 from Microsoft.
For the rest of the specificities, it is necessary to provide 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storagecompatibility with UEFI, Secure Boot, TPM version 2, an internet connection for the update and its activation and a screen of more than 9 inches in 720p minimum. For the graphics part, it must be compatible with DirectX 12 which excludes, at Nvidia for example, cards from series 9 and earlier, as well as the 1050 according to the Nvidia site.
If this new system is to improve the performance of relatively recent systems, it risks leaving part of it aside. In order to ensure the compatibility of your machine or to determine the blocking points, Microsoft provides free its PC Health Check tool, which can be downloaded from our software librarywhich will test your machine.

In a simple click and a few seconds, you are immediately fixed on the possibility or not of installing the future update. In case of incompatibility, the software is supposed to allow you to find the cause of the problem.
