Instagram rolls out its post scheduler to content creators and businesses
Meta’s photo and video sharing platform offers businesses and content creators the ability to schedule their Reels, photos and carousels to be published up to 75 days in advance within the app itself. Instagram has been testing this feature for the past few weeks, allowing a small percentage of its community to access the tool, before rolling it out today on a larger scale, but still in a limited way.
To access this new feature, eligible users must go to Advanced Settings after creating their post, but before sharing it with their followers. From there, they will be able to enable the “Schedule this post” option and select the date and time they want it to be published. Then, you have to go back to the post in question and click on “Schedule”. According TechCrunch, which had reported the existence of this test, the scheduled posts are grouped in the “Scheduled Content” section, accessible directly via the hamburger menu. The process could be simpler, sure, but this feature removes the need to use the Creator Studio site or any third-party app.
Achievements also appear for content creators
No one knows, at this stage, if the function will one day be available to the general public. For the time being, in any case, Instagram has made no mention of any deployment to all users. In the same post that announced this planner, Instagram also mentions Achievements. Creators can unlock them by performing specific actions, such as collaborating with another creator and doing interactive Reels with polls and quizzes.
