American comedian Cristin Milioti joins Colin Farrell in the cast of The Batman-centric Penguin spin-off.
Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Gotham City’s mob boss, will be played by Cristin Milioti (Black Mirror, Modern Love, The Resort). Already in the skin of Carmine Falcone at the cinema, John Turturro will resume his role for The Penguin. The female character was originally introduced in the Batman comics in the mid-1990s. Cristin Milioti will be the second actress to portray Sofia in a live-action production, with Crystal Reed portraying her in Fox’s Gotham series.

Exact plot details for the TV series, which is currently titled The Penguin, are not yet known. However, it should take place directly after the events of The Batman”. Colin Farrell will take over the role of the Penguin who will become the new boss of the local underworld. Lauren LeFranc is writer, executive producer and showrunner of The Penguin, while director Matt Reeves is overseeing the project through 6th & Idaho with Dylan Clark Production. Note that Craig Zobel is in charge of the executive production and the realization of the first two episodes.
Spin-offs for The Batman
The Penguin is one of three The Batman spin-offs currently in the works at HBO Max. One of them, written by Antonio Campos, is intended to be a series set in Arkham Asylum, while another will be set within the Gotham Police Department.
